We all agree that chaining a dog outside is cruel and provides the dog with limited space and ability to roam. At EasyPetFence.com, we only offer humane pet fencing solutions so your dog can exercise. Like you, the pet owner, we don't want to see animals hurt; and that is why EasyPetFence.com does not offer fencing options that will harm the pet, pet owner or the environment. You will never find electric fence or invisible dog fence options on our website.

Some of our competitors offer "humane" electric dog fences. I say, how can the words "humane" and "electric" be put so closely together? Here is the shocking truth about invisible and electric fencing for dogs:

Dogs are made just like us - with flesh, and blood and nerve endings. When you choose an invisible fence, you are choosing to deliver a painful shock to your animal, usually by collar. When you shock a dog, you are sending jolts of electricity to your animal. This, naturally, hurts (at least scares) the dog in hope that the dog will not move away from the yard again.

My neighbor had a dog that once got away from the invisible dog fence and entered into our yard. Clearly, he wanted to play; and he was not harming me in any way when he noticed I was outside. However, my neighbor slowly dragged the dog through the invisible fence so it shocked the dog, reminding him that he did a bad thing. I always felt bad for the dog. It never made sense to me. Why would you choose negative reinforcement?

For your pets, they don't understand why you are hurting them, they just know they are too scared to move away from a designated area. Is this what you really want for your pet?
